Mechanism and pharmacology

Pal-GHK is proposed to act as a matrikine — a peptide fragment released during extracellular-matrix turnover that signals tissue repair. It binds to a yet-uncharacterized receptor on fibroblasts, upregulating synthesis of collagen I, collagen III, fibronectin, and elastin.
