A peptide page becomes easier to read when four independent layers stay visible: exact identity or product, exact claim and evidence grade, jurisdictional authorization, and the date plus current source. Skipping a layer creates overreach.
Use the compact routine first, then audit each layer in the linked monograph and methodology pages.
| Step | Question | Where on monograph | Stop condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | What exact identity or product is being discussed? | Identity and composition | Stop if the form, fragment, complex, mixture, or product cannot be matched |
| 2 | What exact claim is being made, and what grade does it carry? | Evidence by claim and Key studies | Stop if the study does not test that claim or its endpoint |
| 3 | Is a named product authorized for that use in this jurisdiction? | Development and approval status | Stop if status is missing, belongs to another use, or is being inferred from a grade |
| 4 | When was the record checked, and is the decisive source still current? | Front matter, status dates, and Sources | Stop if a time-sensitive conclusion has not been rechecked |

Exact identity and product
Start with the claim, but immediately bind it to an identity and product. A familiar name may refer to a modified analogue, salt, conjugate, fragment, complex, or mixture. The identity method explains why findings cannot automatically move between those forms.
The BPC-157 monograph also separates a defined peptide record from products marketed under that name. A database identifier or online listing does not prove that a sample matches the studied material.
Exact claim and evidence grade
Grades attach to claims, not molecules. Semaglutide has several A rows and a B row in the current monograph; retatrutide has B development-stage claims; BPC-157 has C preliminary-human and D Evidence from in vitro or animal studies with no adequate human efficacy evidence — the atlas Grade D lane. مصدر التعريف: Evidence grading methodology · المسرد rows.
Read the claim wording, best human evidence, key-study design, endpoint, and limitations together. The A-E and X guide explains the boundaries, while the clinical-trial table guide shows how to audit a row.
A grade cannot establish product authorization, quality, or suitability. It describes how well the current evidence supports the exact claim.
Jurisdictional authorization and status
Approval belongs to a named product, formulation, use, population, jurisdiction, and date. It cannot be inferred from a molecule’s popularity or from a strong study.
Retatrutide illustrates the boundary: the August 2026 monograph reports B Phase 3 claims while the US and EU status rows record no identified approval. Semaglutide has authorized products, but those authorizations do not extend to every claim made about the molecule.
BPC-157 illustrates a different separation. Broad An entry with frequent visibility in the research-peptide ecosystem. Visibility is not endorsement, and marketed material is not assumed safe, sterile, authentic, or suitable for humans. مصدر التعريف: Scope and selection methodology · المسرد visibility coexists with limited human evidence, no identified FDA-approved or EMA-authorized product, and a separate The World Anti-Doping Agency; its Prohibited List classifies many peptides as prohibited substances in sport. مصدر التعريف: WADA and sport regulation brief · المسرد status. Inclusion, evidence, medicine status, and sport status remain distinct.
Verification date and current source
A last-verified date tells you when the cited record was checked. It does not promise that the record is current forever or predict the next regulator, trial, safety, or The World Anti-Doping Agency; its Prohibited List classifies many peptides as prohibited substances in sport. مصدر التعريف: WADA and sport regulation brief · المسرد update.
The scope and selection method treats those claims as time-sensitive. Before publication or decision-making, return to the decisive current source rather than relying only on an older atlas snapshot.
Bounded conclusion
A defensible conclusion states the identity, exact claim, evidence strength, jurisdictional status, limitations, and verification date without filling gaps. It does not turn visibility into evidence, evidence into approval, or a database record into sample authentication.
The supporting editorial boundaries are documented in Evidence grading, Scope and selection, Identity and structure assets, and Dose language.
Repeat the routine
Identify the product. Name the claim. Audit the study and grade. Check status in the relevant jurisdiction. Recheck the dated source. If any layer does not match, stop at the narrower conclusion.
